Lower Merion residents looking for live music over Labor Day weekend have four shows across two venues in Ardmore and Bryn Mawr, starting with a free concert Friday, Sept. 4.
Philadelphia rock band Low Cut Connie headlines WXPN's Free at Noon series at Ardmore Music Hall, 23 E. Lancaster Ave. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the show starts at noon. The performance doubles as a live WXPN broadcast.
No ticket is required.
Led by pianist and singer Adam Weiner, Low Cut Connie released its eighth studio album, Livin in the USA, in July, according to WXPN's artist profile. The band has been active since 2010.
Ardmore Music Hall keeps the weekend going with two tribute acts. Damn the Torpedoes, a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute, plays Saturday, Sept. 5, at 8 p.m. Philly Tribute to the Clash performs its London Calling set Sunday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m., according to Main Line Media News.
Also on Sunday, David Wilcox and Lucy Kaplansky take the stage at Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts, 9 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $19. The show is billed as a WXPN Welcomes event.
Bryn Mawr Twilight Concerts is co-presented by Lower Merion Township and produced by Rising Sun Presents. The outdoor series continues Friday, Sept. 11, with Mdou Moctar performing a solo set at 7 p.m. Tickets are $19.
