A one-day donation drive in Bala Cynwyd on Oct. 22 will collect gently used clothing, electronics and home goods to benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

The City Ave District and Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) are hosting the Pickups Beyond Breast Cancer drive on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon in the LBBC parking lot at 40 Monument Road. LBBC, a national breast cancer nonprofit founded in 1991, is headquartered at that address.

Proceeds support LBBC's educational programs and services for people affected by breast cancer. The nonprofit says 83 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to those programs, according to its website.

What to bring

Accepted items include clothing, shoes and accessories; home goods, bedding and linens; art, antiques and jewelry; electronics, books and media; and toys, bikes and sports gear. All items must be gently used. Full donation guidelines are available at pickupsbeyondbreastcancer.org.

How to participate

Residents who cannot make the Oct. 22 drop-off can schedule a home pickup through the Pickups Beyond Breast Cancer program by calling 888-209-3105 or visiting the program's website.

The City Ave District, led by President and CEO Bryan Fenstermaker, is a business improvement district spanning the City Avenue corridor across Lower Merion Township and Philadelphia. It organized the drive in partnership with LBBC, according to the state economic development office's profile of the district.
