Bryn Mawr College wants the campus awash in yellow, white and navy every Friday starting Sept. 4.
The college announced a new weekly tradition called "Owlfit Fridays," inviting students, staff, faculty, alumni, families and friends to wear Bryn Mawr merchandise or the school's colors each Friday. The initiative launches the first week of fall classes and is open to anyone on or off campus.
No merch? No problem. Anything yellow, white or navy counts.
"Anyone with a connection to Bryn Mawr knows how strong our community is," Romi Delher, associate director of student engagement, said in the college's announcement. "More than just a fun way to engage with each other on campus, Owlfit Fridays are a way to visibly highlight the deep pride we have for that community."
Limited-edition Bryn Mawr shirts will be handed out at events throughout the fall semester. Staff members will also be stationed on campus with raffle tickets for participants, who can enter to win a monthly prize. The college has not specified what the prizes are.
Participants can send photos of themselves in college colors to the Bryn Mawr Instagram account (@brynmawrcollege) or to [email protected] for a chance to be featured on the college's Instagram.
The college, located at 101 N. Merion Ave. in Bryn Mawr, has not said whether the tradition will extend beyond the fall semester.
