New Horizons Senior Center wraps up its free Music Week 2026 with a Day 5 finale at Ashbridge House in Bryn Mawr on Friday, Aug. 7. The event marks the first time the week-long program for adults 55 and older has split across two venues.
Days 1 through 4 ran Monday through Thursday at Narberth Borough Hall. The Friday finale shifts to New Horizons' second location at 1301 Montgomery Ave., which opened with a ribbon-cutting in May.
What's on the schedule
The day begins at 11 a.m. with acoustic duo Jeanette and Steve. Steve is a jazz guitarist and vocalist; Jeanette, according to the program listing, rediscovered her singing voice through study and cabaret performance and tells stories through song. Their set spans pop, American standards, country, folk and blues.
Lunch follows at noon, with a dessert social at 12:15 p.m. sponsored by local organizations. At 1 p.m., the center screens "On the Other Side of the Fence," a documentary about a 30-year partnership between two Philadelphia schools, followed by a Q&A with director Henry Nevison.
Free, but registration required
All Music Week events are free. New Horizons provides two music programs, lunch and dessert each day at no cost, though attendees must pre-register for lunch. Residents can register online at newhorizonsseniorcenter.org or by calling 610-664-2366.
The nonprofit, founded in 1976 as Options in Aging, serves adults from their mid-50s through their 90s and is sponsored in part by the Montgomery County Office of Aging Services. No one is turned away for financial reasons, according to the center's website.
New Horizons now operates out of two locations: the longtime Narberth Borough Hall space and the newly reopened Ashbridge House, which also hosts regular programs including a walking club, tai chi and film screenings.
