Maivie, a pressed-flower art workshop chain, has opened at 74 Rittenhouse Place in downtown Ardmore.

The studio offers three-hour guided sessions where participants arrange dried and pressed flowers into framed art pieces. Each workshop includes unlimited pressed flowers and a choice of custom frames and canvases, according to the company's social media pages. Maivie supplies all materials, and no prior art experience is required, the company states on its website.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Lower Merion newsletter confirmed the opening on Thursday, Aug. 27. The Downtown Ardmore District had flagged the arrival earlier, posting on its official Instagram account on Tuesday, Aug. 18, that Maivie signage was going up at the Rittenhouse Place storefront. The district welcomed the business as one of several new neighbors joining the area.

Rittenhouse Place sits just off Lancaster Avenue in the heart of the Downtown Ardmore commercial district. The location joins a growing roster of new businesses in the corridor. A dozen shops and restaurants opened in downtown Ardmore during the first half of 2026, including Japanese barbecue, salad and organic pet-treat concepts, according to a July Inquirer report on the district's expansion. Maivie was not among those listed, placing its arrival after that count.

The chain markets its workshops for date nights, group celebrations and casual outings. It describes itself as suitable for everyone regardless of artistic ability.

Maivie previously operated locations in Utah and California before expanding to Frisco, Texas, in 2025, according to Community Impact, a Texas news outlet. The Frisco studio was the company's fourth location at the time. The Ardmore outpost is Maivie's first in the Philadelphia region.
