Ardmore firefighters spent about an hour Saturday night tracking a smoke odor inside a Wynnewood home before tracing it to equipment in the crawlspace.

Crews from the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore, also known as Station 25, responded to the Hamilton Road residence around 10:27 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, after someone reported smelling smoke inside, according to a post by Graham Fuller of the Merion Fire Company. The fire company did not specify what type of equipment was involved or whether it was malfunctioning.

The post did not mention any injuries or property damage.

Fuller wrote that the call shows the importance of investigating any unexplained smoke odor. The fire company urged residents who cannot immediately identify a smell's source to call 911 and let firefighters check it out.
