Montgomery County's annual Back-to-School Drive is accepting donations of school supplies for low-income families through Friday, August 21.
Backpacks are the greatest need, according to county officials. The full supply list, which includes notebooks, calculators, pencils and classroom items like disinfectant wipes, is available on the county's Health and Human Services donations page.
Donations can be dropped off at the DeKalb Center, 1430 DeKalb St., Norristown, at the main entrance off Green Street. Items can also be mailed to Veronica Hilghman, P.O. Box 311, Norristown, PA 19404-0311. An Amazon Wish List allows donors to purchase and ship items directly.
The drive is open to businesses, community members, nonprofit organizations and civic groups.
For questions or to arrange donations, contact Hilghman at [email protected] or 610-278-5885, or call Montgomery County Community Connections at 610-278-3522.
