Baldwin School seniors Damia Je and Emily Wang are bringing about 16 student-owned businesses to Bryn Mawr College for a free outdoor market on Sept. 25.

The Night of Student Entrepreneurs, or NOSE, will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. outside McBride Gateway at 101 N. Merion Ave. No registration is required.

Vendors from seven high schools will set up shop: The Baldwin School, Conestoga, Garnet Valley, Friends' Central, William Penn Charter, Downingtown STEM Academy and Lower Merion High School. Visitors can browse baked goods, specialty beverages, clothing, room decor, accessories and artwork. Students will also promote photography services, mobile apps and other ventures. Most vendors plan to accept cash and digital payments through Venmo and PayPal, according to the organizers.

Je and Wang, both seniors at The Baldwin School, spent about five months lining up a venue and recruiting vendors after a conversation in art class sparked the idea during the winter of 2025. Community-market fees can run $45 to $400 or more, according to Je. NOSE charges each vendor $20 to cover venue and advertising costs, with any surplus reinvested in the event. Bryn Mawr College offered the students space at a reduced cost after its events staff learned about their plans.

"One time in art class, I complained to Emily about how expensive it is to enter a flea market as a student," Je told MyChesCo.

Je runs Happy Hugs, an apparel line she founded to support advocacy for people with Tourette syndrome, a condition she has lived with since childhood. The brand has sold more than 140 hoodies and drawn more than 1.5 million social-media views, according to Je. She plans to donate profits, after operating expenses, to the Tourette Association of America.

Wang handled much of the outreach and social-media promotion, while Je designed the event's website and contacted potential vendors.

Music, lawn seating and picnic space will be available. The organizers said they hope participants stay connected beyond the event, though no future date has been scheduled.
