A vehicle flipped onto its roof at the intersection of Church Road and Argyle Road in Ardmore on Friday, with the driver climbing out before firefighters arrived.

Merion Fire Company Station 25 was dispatched to the scene at 9:55 p.m. for a reported vehicle rollover, according to an incident report the company posted on Monday. Crews found the car upside-down in the roadway.

The occupant had already exited the vehicle.

Firefighters stabilized the overturned car to keep it from shifting, secured the intersection, and remained on scene until a recovery unit arrived to tow the vehicle away. Graham Fuller, who wrote the fire company's report, noted that five photographs of the scene were published alongside the account.

In its account, the fire company said the occupant was able to get out safely and used the incident to stress the importance of wearing a seat belt and driving cautiously at night. That message aligns with statewide data: PennDOT reported that fatalities involving unbelted occupants in Pennsylvania fell to 259 in 2025, the lowest since record-keeping began, down from 311 in 2024. The agency estimated 90 percent of those killed without a seat belt could have survived had they been buckled in.

"Buckle up! Your seat belt can save your life in a crash," PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said in an April 29 press release announcing the record-low figures.
